Framing

Finding the right framing choice for your art work can be a daunting experience for many people. We have years of experience and work with the client to find just the right frame for the job.

All aspects must be taken into consideration; complementing and enhancing the art work as well as taking into account the environment in which it will be hung.

All valuable works are framed to a conservation standard and needle art is hand laced over acid free backing, all steps are taken to ensure the longevity of your art work/photograph/certificate/tapestry ect.

We also stock a wide range of ornate imported mirrors, at our studio on Marua Rd. Or you can select a moulding of your choice and have one made to measure. A beautifully framed mirror strategically placed in a room can transform the room giving a sense of space and light.

Our framing studio is situated a few minutes away at 161 Marua Rd, Ellerslie. Feel free to visit our friendly framers or come up to the gallery.

Conservation

We offer a Restoration service for oils and paper works. This is a highly specialised area of expertise and work is carried out by professional conservators.

Dust, grime and the natural aging process, absorption of varnish, are indicators that your paintings need cleaning. In extreme cases the work will require restoration, for example if the paint is lifting and carcking.

Paper works too need attention, due to foxing caused by being framed with inferior materials, humidity and the effect of light.

You should check your paintings regularly for any of the above signs of deterioration, also check the back of paintings to ensure that the tape is in tack and still sealing the back to prevent dust and bugs migrating into the frame.
